Hiring for BC ... Experienced Commercial/Industrial Journeyman


Apex Power & Automation Ltd requires a Journeyman Electrician with Commercial/Industrial experience to work with a project team on the installation and commission of VFDs, HVAC, fire, security, lighting and energy management control systems, and will be expected to play a key role in on-site activities as a site foreman and field partner to the project manager, assisting in the ordering of materials and coordination of on-site activities. The Journeyman Electrician will be expected to be up-to-date with the Electrical Code and perform within its requirements, as well as provide input into system design, installation and coordination and take part in the initial handover team to plan the job from the onset. The new Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for installing and terminating conduit wire, cable, equipment, panels, sensors and various control components and devices. Other responsibilities will include the fabrication of control panels, installation of interlocking wiring and performance of wiring check out, and assistance of systems start-up, and will be required to participate in the job site final walk-through and prepare all as-built markup drawings for the design engineer Apex Power & Automation Ltd offers competitive salary packages, an incredible work environment, and career advancement opportunities. Apex Power & Automation Ltd requires 2nd or 3rd-year Electrical Apprentices who will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment while learning more about the trade. Experience is a must for these positions.

Leading by example while training apprentices will be a part of your daily experience; you will be responsible for applying Safe work practices as well as using your vast knowledge of the trade. Must have well-developed written and verbal communication skills. A sense of urgency and attention to detail are a necessity.

Hiring Honest Residential/Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Primary Mission: You will be responsible for creating a positive relationship with Apex Power & Automation Ltd’s customers as you professionally provide residential electrical diagnostic, repair and installation services. Your main responsibility will be to support electrical work required in residential and commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Represent Apex Power & Automation Ltd in a professional, courteous and customer service-oriented manner on each and every call.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems in domestic electrical systems, including but not limited to fault-finding, panel changes, generator installation, knob and tube removal, home rewiring etc.
  • Accurately estimate repair costs, fixed right the first time and continual value-added communication with the homeowner.
  • Set priorities and work assignments to meet established deadlines.
  • Perform diagnostics, repair, maintain, service and install equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Perform general and specific equipment inspections.
  • Educate customers on electrical work in homes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all modern equipment and regulations.
  • Explain the value of Apex Power & Automation Ltd's products, services and programs on every call.

Skills, Abilities and Experience:


  • Must be a certified electrician
  • 5+ years' experience as an electrician
  • Must have a driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Must be physically capable of performing all work required of this position
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Experience in refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanics is an asset
